Surely One Of The Worlds Ultimate Des Res's!

On my way to Tarbet yesterday, I noticed a for sale sign about two miles south of the village.

Curiosity got the better of me and I easily tracked it down.

Now, how would you like views like this from your bedroom windows?

Well, for a cool £1.3 million, you can.

A Cracking Initiative.

I was at the launch of a new initiative called the 4B's yesterday.

Tarbet on Loch Lomond was the venue and what a deal is on offer.

A shuttle bus will run from Balloch to Tarbet towing a cycle trailer. An all day ticket costing £4.00 for adults and only £2.00 for children ( including your bike) is the cost.

What a bargain!

The bus takes you right down to the shore of the Loch where you can hop on a ferry to the other side and link up with a myriad of cycle tracks.

I've done a bit of travelling in my time but I can honestly say that some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet is right here in Scotland.

If you want to know what's going on within the National Park, have a look a the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park web site and get "on yer bike"!

Edwyn's Art Exhibition, CCA, Glasgow.

I was invited to the preview of Edwyn Collins art exhibition at the CCA, Glasgow on Wednesday night.

Is there no stopping this man?

Having fought back from two strokes some five years ago, he has managed to learn everything all over again including painting with his left hand.

He played an impromptu couple of songs for us at the bar, quite remarkable!

The Fix Do Their First Charity Gig.

On Saturday, Coopers Bar in Helensburgh hosted a fund raising evening for Yorkhill Children's Hospital.

The Fix kicked off the bill with a pulsating set which got the packed house warmed up. Due to the licensing laws, they had to be finished by 8.00pm. It was a great night and a lot of money was raised not to mention, the few pints consumed.

From left to right..... Connor, Callum, (he must have been cold) Allan and Andrew.

Feretting Around.

I was asked to look out some old whisky promotions I had set up many years ago.

I had a good laugh when I came across this one from 1990.

Langs Whisky, had a monthly competition for golfers called "The Golden Ferret Awards", which needed a publicity boost. A golden ferret, is a term in golf when you chip out of a bunker and hole the ball. If you did this, you could claim a fabulous bottle of Glengoyne Whisky. ( A favourite of mine)

I decided to use a live ferret and what a hoot we had. The ensuing publicity was phenomenal.

I seem to remember the ferret was called Sid, in memory of the late great Sid Vicious.

You can see why by the newspaper cutting, go Sid!

These Boots Weren't Made For Walking!

On Sunday I went for a walk along a bit of the West Highland Way. I spotted this pair of old knackered walking boots about fifty meters off the track, dumped in the middle of a field.

It looked like that scene from the movie, where the subject got zapped by an alien ray-gun and vaporized, leaving only a pair of smoking shoes.

On a more serious note, I thought all those fit outdoor hill walking types had a bit more respect for their surroundings, apparently not all of them.

And I Wasn't Even Drinking.

You see some strange things doing my job. I was taking some photos at a friends daughters 21st birthday party last week and had to do a double take with this shot.

Kaleidoscope Of Spring Colours.

A few weeks ago I posted up a few shots from the park of signs of spring, well, what a difference two weeks can make.

I managed to get all the various colours within twenty minutes and this is only some of them.

Isn't it a shame that a certain element, still feel it's OK to leave all their rubbish lying around. There was a bin less than fifty meters away.

No wonder visitors to the city can't understand this weird Glasgow habit.
