Awards Bash.

I was a guest of Arnold Clarke's GTG Training Division recently at Glasgow's Hilton Hotel.

The occasion was the Annual Ethnic Minority Awards. It was a great night, full of colour,
dance and music.

No Smoke Without Fire.

I looked out at what I thought was a cloudy morning on Saturday.

On further inspection, I realised it was a huge smoke plume which stretched for miles and was thousands of feet high.

It turned out to be at a scrapyard on the other side of the river Clyde at Renfrew which had been alight since just after midnight. It burned ferociously all day.

I would like to know what could cause so much pollution.

Art For Arts Sake.

Now I am no artist and have never claimed to be.

I think that one of the beauties of photography (photos without any digital interference) is that they capture exactly, moments and incidents in time accurately with little or no argument attached.

On display at the Tramway I saw these two exhibits. Both were part of the Glasgow School of Art, Fine Art Postgraduate Course 2009. One is a stuffed crow with a rod attached to what looked like a plastic heart and the other is yes, a piece of orange peel.

I'm sorry, I don't get it.

Surely Not A Classic Already !

Byres Road is a great place to see all manner of things.

Recently, I spotted this old customised BMW 2002. I remember them well as a good friend of mine had a "Targa" version when I was in my late teens.

It is hard to believe that the model first came on show in 1969.

Where are all the years going?

Nae Luck With The Football Final.

A few weeks ago I posted up the under 16 football semi final. Well number two son Andrew, was unable to play in the final due to injury.

The game went to a penalty shoot out and we lost.

This is that horrible moment.

The Hottest Day Of The Year ... So Far.

Last weekend was great.

I went for a drive to Loch Ard onto Loch Arklet and finished off at Loch Katrine.


There are lots of quaint tea rooms and views en route.


It is often said that if we got weather like that for the summer months the whole dynamic of Scotland would change.

Maybe...... but would it get rid of the Midges?

The scenery is hard to beat.

Sunset Over The Ben.

I couldn't resist this sunset looking up from the bottom of Loch Lomond to The Ben.

I've just discovered there is a Ben Lomond in California.

I'll bet the weather is a whole lot different!
