Inveraray.

Inveraray is a beautiful town.

Situated on the banks of Loch Fyne on the west coast of Scotland, it is surrounded by some of the country's best scenery.

The town has a mixture of quaint and traditional shops and is steeped in history. The George Hotel has been around since the early 1700's and I have to admit to getting caught up in the back bar many times over the years. You can also visit the famous Vital Spark, one of the last Puffers left and
star of the long running comedy series Para Handy.

The reason for me being there was to get some photos of the new matron at the must see,
Inveraray Jail. Trust me, you would not argue with this woman.

On the way back, I took a shot of Inveraray Castle, home to the Duke of Argyll and home of the Clan Campbell. Many years ago I took a shot from a helicopter of 500 French sales personnel on the lawns at the front of the castle after Pernod Ricard had acquired Clan Campbell Whisky. It only took 22 minutes to get there from the centre of Glasgow. The resulting photograph was wired all over the world.

If you are ever in the town, go to the little deli and get yourself an Aberdeen Angus
sausage roll, they are mind boggling. If you are a vegetarian, don't worry they have plenty on the menu of a non meat nature.

All in all, a great day out.
